Bluetooth Remote Capture lets you start/stop a recording, capture a photo, and change the camera mode wirelessly right from the Rylo app. Now it’s easy to put yourself in the action when Rylo’s out of reach or you’re away from the camera. Make sure you update your Rylo to get this and the latest features.
Pairing Rylo to your device
The initial pairing between Rylo and your device occurs once Rylo is connected to your device via its sync cable. Thereafter, your device will automatically remember Rylo for future connections.
Connecting to Rylo after the initial pairing:
- Enable bluetooth on your device from its settings
- Power Rylo on
- Open the Rylo app
- Connect Rylo to your phone and a modal should appear requesting that you enable the pairing between Rylo and your phone. If no modal is shown in the app then you may have already accepted this pairing request in a previous connection - move on to the next step.
- Disconnect Rylo from your phone and ensure that you’re within 10 feet from Rylo
- Rylo should automatically connect to your device and you’ll see this icon
in the upper right-hand corner of the app, confirming that they’re connected. If not, try these troubleshooting steps.

Bluetooth Range
When opening the remote, you’ll see the Wireless Connection status displayed at the top as Strong, Good, or Weak. Rylo can remain connected to your device so long as they’re within ten feet of each other. We recommend initiating the Bluetooth connection when your device and Rylo are close to each other, and before you distance yourself away from Rylo.
