Speed allows you to accelerate playback to show a quick timelapse of content in a smaller timeframe. You can enable Speed on the whole video or on portions of it to create a unique edit.
Enable Speed & Motion Blur on Mobile
- Tap

- Tap Timelapse Full Video or Timelapse Section
- Select your playback speed (2x, 4x, 8x, 12x, or 16x)
- If implementing a Timelapse Section, adjust the start and endpoints by tapping and dragging them on the video’s timeline
- Enable Motion Blur, if you’d like, to provide a unique blurring effect by tapping
- Tap

Enable Speed & Motion on Desktop
- Click on
- Click on and drag the bar above the timeline to select your playback speed (2x to 16x)
- Click on and drag the start or endpoint to adjust the length and location of the timelapse
Note: When a video is sped up, you can preview it when playing it back within the app. If your phone doesn’t possess the hardware capable of presenting your timelapse in the app, your video will properly reflect the speed changes once it’s exported.
Tip: For the best results, use Motion Blur with content that is more than a few minutes long, where Rylo is in motion, and Speed has been set to 8x or higher. You can also zoom in slightly to ensure you have the smoothest video possible.
Note: When Speed is implemented the exported video’s sound will speed up as well. If desired, you can disable the video’s audio on export.

- Drag your finger left or right along the video’s timeline until you’re inside the red timelapse bar
- Tap
- Tap
- Tap and drag the beginning or end of the timelapse section to adjust it
- Tap and drag the playback speed to update it
- Tap

- Click on the red timelapse bar in the video’s timeline
- Click and drag the beginning or end of the timelapse section to adjust it
- Click and drag the playback speed to update it
- Click outside of the timelapse bar to save it and move onto another edit
